The March on Washington Escape Room will take students on a mission all while learning about the events of the March on Washington in 1963 and its impact on the Civil Rights Movement in the United States. This escape room is engaging and focuses on reading comprehension, critical thinking, peer collaboration, & problem solving skills.
Students will practice close reading skills by reading & rereading a passage several times to find answers and complete 6 different challenges. The best part…NO PREP for teachers. JUST PRINT (or send digitally) & GO!
This activity can be used for MLK Day, Black History Month, history partner activities, anticipatory sets, sub plans, extension activities, early-finishers, stations, or independent work. How you choose to set it up in your classroom is up to you. You my also choose to do one challenge per day or complete them all in one or two class periods.
