Looking for a fun, low-prep way to review any topic while keeping your students engaged and excited? What's in the Box? is an editable PowerPoint and Google Slides game that turns ordinary review into a strategic, interactive classroom favorite!

Here’s how it works

• Divide students into 2 teams.

• Team 1 starts by clicking on a cactus. A question appears. The team answers it aloud.

  • If correct → they move on to the Pick or Pass decision.

  • If incorrect → the other team gets one chance to steal the question and earn the Pick or Pass option.

• PICK OR PASS???

  • PICK → The team opens the box & accepts the points inside (positive or negative).

  • PASS → They hand the box over to the other team, who must open it & accept whatever’s inside.

• Reveal the Points by clicking the signpost, then click the box to reveal the mystery points.

• Tally the team’s score accordingly.

• Repeat steps with the next team. Continue until time runs out or all questions are used.

Easily Editable: This game is customizable! Simply edit the 40 question slides to fit any subject or grade level... perfect for math, science, history, ELA, and more!

The PowerPoint Version is a Macro-Enabled Presentation. Meaning: Some coding has been added so that when you run it in presentation mode, it will randomly choose certain slides for you — making your game even more fun and dynamic. To make sure everything runs smoothly, you’ll need to enable macros. Directions are provided upon download.

NOTE: The PowerPoint and Google Slides versions of this game work VERY differently and can’t be interchanged. Directions are provided for both.
